Teddy Hall Relays
The event takes place every March at the Roger Bannister running track on Iffley Road, Oxford.
This year’s Teddy Hally relay is on Wednesday, 6 March.
The Teddy Hall relays start and finish on the iconic Iffley track. It's one of the oldest and largest student relays in the country. The relay is a scenic 4 x 7K route through the Oxford centre.
We enter several relay teams every year. Runners of all abilities are most welcome.
How to enter
We will publish a link to the entry form and other details via the member email newsletter and on Facebook.
Payment of £11 per runner is by BACS only. We include account details in the email you get back from the online form. Check you have entered the correct email address before submitting the form.
How it works
Each team member runs one leg of the 7K course.
Runners on the first leg start together. They run 200 m on the track and then out onto the course. When first-leg runners come back in, they run the 200 m to the hand-over. The second leg runner sets off around the track. This continues until all team members have run their leg.
The emphasis for this event is definitely on the fun.
The teams
We will enter as many of the teams below as we can.
Women's teams: four female runners
Men's teams: four male runners
Mixed teams: two female plus two male runners
Picnic in the stands
That's right; it wouldn't be an AAC event without cake. Bring along some food to share (or gobble down all yourself). We will huddle in the stands for a picnic. Come rain or shine!
The route
You'll start with 200 m on Iffley Track and then head towards Donnington Bridge. Next, it's down onto the towpath along the river. You'll go a short way down Abingdon Road (turning into St. Aldate's) to the entrance of Christ Church Meadow. The course takes you around the Meadow out to Rose Lane and the High Street. Finally, it's back onto the track to the finish.
