Track and field
Coaching groups
There are track and field coaching sessions for all age groups with a full development pathway for younger athletes.
Our coaches
Our coaches are qualified through England Athletics coaches and are DBS checked. There are also opportunities to gain coaching qualifications paid for by the club. Contact our Coaching and Group Coordinator, Colin Mitchell, if you are interested in coaching development.
Competitions
There is a wide range of competitions to participate in, including:
representing the club in track and field leagues
open meetings where you enter individually to run against people of a similar ability
championships where medals are on offer.
See the senior and young athlete leagues page for more details about competitions.
Event groups
Event groups are competition-level. There is an expectation that the athletes will participate in a minimum number of competitions each season (usually four) to retain their place in the group. Coaches will help guide athletes about suitable competitions to participate in, especially helping those who are new and perhaps nervous about competing to start at the right level.
